My 2 favorites mediums are digital and watercolors.

For my digital paintings I use Photoshop. I always draw everything on paper before working digitally. Early in the process I define the big areas of my composition so it's easier to apply the colors. I work the background in a different layer from the one with the main character. I use a lot of layers with different effects. Customized brushes and lots of textures are very are essential to me. Sometimes I make splashes with indian ink and then I scan them to use them in Photoshop.

When I work with watercolors I use Van Gogh colors. Koi watercolors is a good inexpensive brand that I also use sometimes. It's important to use a thick watercolor paper when working with wet mediums.
